Republic of Palau − Two representatives of High School of the Pacific made a courtesy call on the Senate on Monday, May 28 and met with Senate President Surangel S. Whipps, Senator Caleb Otto, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Education, and Senator Santy Asanuma, Chairman of the Committee on Resources, Commerce, Trade, and Development (RCTD). The High School of the Pacific is a college-preparatory high school located on the Big Island of Hawai’i. The school program focuses on the education experience, academic excellence, leadership skills, and principles of world peace. The School aims to empower every student to become ethical and capable leaders who are agents of positive social change and ambassadors between diverse cultures and the global community. There are current 44 students enrolled in the school from Palau, the FSM, and the Marshall Islands, while future recruitment will include students from South Pacific countries.
