The Committee on Ways and Means and Financial Matters (WMFM) -- It shall be the duty of this Committee to consider and report on all bills, resolutions, and other matters referred to it by the Senate pertaining to the finances or financial administration of the nation, banking laws and regulations, insurance laws and regulations, financial services, and institutions, consumer protection relating to banks, insurance, and financial services, and capital improvement projects and grant applications for funding of such projects. This shall include, but not be limited to, tax and non-tax revenues, national budgets, expenditures, authorizations and appropriations, loans, debts, claims, funding arrangements, accounting and audits, and related subjects. Bills, resolutions, and other matters that pertain to the subject matter of another standing committee may be referred to such other standing committee for preliminary examination and subsequent report to the Committee on Ways and Means and Financial Matters.
The Committee on Judiciary and Governmental Affairs (JGA) — It shall be the duty of this committee to consider and report on all bills, resolutions, and other matters pertaining to civil and criminal law, judicial administration and organization, public order and law enforcement, suffrage and elections, revision of statutes, governmental organization and functions, civil service, political and constitutional subjects, land law, relations between the national government and state governments, delegation of powers and authority from the national government to the states, and national projects involving state-owned property and related matters. Bills, resolutions, or other matters pertaining to the internal organization and management of the Senate shall also be referred to this Committee for consideration and reporting.
The Committee on Resources, Commerce, Trade and Development (RCTD) — It shall be the duty of this committee to consider and report on all bills, resolutions, and other matters referred to it by the Senate pertaining to the economy and the economic use of resources, including economic planning and policies, private and public investments, economic development, commerce and industry, agriculture, communications, fisheries, forestry, industries, and public utilities operations. and related subjects.
The Committee on Health and Education (H&E) — It shall be the duty of this committee to consider and report on all bills, resolutions, and other matters referred to it by the Senate pertaining to physical and mental health care, public health issues, sanitation, the rights of disabled persons, hospital administration, labor conditions, education, education awareness, school facilities, and scholarships.
The Committee on Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) — It shall be the duty of this committee to consider and report on all bills, resolutions, and other matters referred to it by the Senate pertaining to infrastructure development, such as construction and maintenance of public facilities, roads, airport and seaport facilities, sewers, and solid waste disposal facilities.
The Committee on Foreign Affairs and State Relations (FASR) — It shall be the duty of this committee to consider and report on all bills, resolutions, and other matters referred to it by the Senate pertaining to national defense, treaties, foreign nations, and international organizations.
The Committee on Tourism Development — It shall be the duty of this committee to consider and report on all bills, resolutions, and other matters referred to it by the Senate pertaining to the development of tourism, including hotel and resort constructions, utilization and preservation of natural resources, tourism promotions, and ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of foreign visitors.
The Committee on Youth Affairs, Social Welfare, and Culture (YASWC) — It shall be the duty of this committee to consider and report on all bills, resolutions, and other matters referred to it by the Senate pertaining to consider and report on all matters pertaining to the physical and mental well-being of youth, and the people of Palau, athletic leagues, programs, events and facilities, family and other matters related to youth, matters related to preservation of traditions, culture and arts, and pertaining to job training and employment.
